Type Pack: the new Contact Pack visual book
Intro
With Contact Pack Favini offers an additional solution in the production of carton, box, card and display work. It is in fact developed specifically for precision folding, ensuring excellent light resistance, combined with a superior rigidity and a natural rough tactile appearance. In addition to the certified virgin cellulose version, a 50% recycled fibre line is now also available.
Type Pack is the title of the visual book for Contact Pack. With this editorial project we aim to show the range of possibilities in terms of final applications of this paper, especially related to packaging (Pack), and at the same time playing with different typefaces (Type).
Conceptual phase
As its brand name suggests, Contact Pack is suitable for packaging applications.
But not only that! There are many additional uses, as well as printing techniques that can be used to complement this paper.
Production phase: beyond print are many other techniques
Leafing through the visual book you can feel the naturally rough surface and the rigidity of the paper that lends itself both to die-cutting and blind embossing as well as offset litho and finishing techniques including hot foil stamping and screen-printing.
Inspiration for these applications comes from the world of shopping, labels and commercial products. Three-dimensionality and depth were created by blind embossing, graphics as well as by hot foil.
This swing ticket is made with Contact Pack white 360 g/m2 and is mounted on the new, recycled version. The proximity of the two papers allows a quick tactile and visual comparison: The new recycled version retains Contact Pack’s distinctive characteristics!
The shape of the tag was made possible by the die cut, giving the edges a precise cut. The blind emboss was used in the word ‘’tag’’ that occupies the entire label, giving depth to the paper and pleasantness to the touch.
Hot foil was used in the ”&” in the top right-hand corner, producing it in a deep red that matches well with the lanyard inserted in the hole.
Conclusions
In this visual book, the white and the ivory shades of the paper have become an artistic canvas for the creative contributors. Are you ready to experiment too?
