IN A WORLD DRIVEN BY PERFORMANCE, WHERE DOMINANCE AND AGGRESSION OFTEN PREVAIL, EMPATHY GROWS THIN. WHERE EMPATHY IS ABSENT, BULLYING AND ABUSE TAKE ROOT. NOT ONLY IN SCHOOLYARDS, BUT ALSO IN WORKPLACES, COMMUNITIES, ONLINE SPACES, AND EVEN IN THE CENTRES OF POLITICS AND THOUGHT—ESPECIALLY IN CONTEXTS MARKED BY POWER IMBALANCES. SOMETIMES THESE BEHAVIOURS ERUPT INTO EXPLICIT VIOLENCE.
“Seeds of kindness” is the theme of the new Posterheroes 2025 competition that asks the international creative community to express the generative power of empathy through a 70×100 cm poster.
FAVINI, the PLUG association and ITCLIO are partners for the design and organisation of the celebrated Posterheroes competition, now in its 14th year.

THE BRIEF FOR THE FORTEENTH EDITION
Empathy is not pity. It’s not even sympathy. Empathy is the ability to feel with—not just for—others. It is a shared emotional space, where different bodies, stories, and vulnerabilities can coexist, be seen, and uplift each other. Kindness is empathy in action. It’s not a weakness. It’s a quiet strength that doesn’t impose—it transforms. Kindness can disarm violence, break silence, and restore voice.
How do we design empathy? How do we make small transformative gestures visible? How can kindness rewrite our relationships, our spaces, our cultures—even contemporary geopolitics?
HOW TO TAKE PART IN THE POSTERHEROES GRAPHIC COMPETITION
The competition submissions will be judged by an international jury and evaluate them in order to select forty winning posters. From theses forty winners, the organisers will choose the work that will win the prize from Favini, worth 2500 euros, and the prize from Time2, worth 1500 euros.
