40% textile waste, GRS certification and new Pure White shades for a collection that combines sustainability, material innovation and contemporary elegance
Milan, 19 May 2026 – Sustainability meets the sartorial appeal of the material. With the new version of Refit, Favini reaffirms its pioneering role in paper innovation, bringing a forward-thinking vision of the circular economy, combined with aesthetics and print performance.
What’s new
Favini’s R&D team has developed a process to increase the percentage of textile waste from 25% to as much as 40%. To this, post-consumer recycled cellulose fibre is added, bringing the total recycled content to 50%. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification guarantees this content.
Continued research has also led to the selection of lighter-coloured waste; a key factor for the launch of the new products.
The new shades
The extended range introduces the new Refit Cotton Pure White and Refit Wool Pure White variants, developed using a particularly light-coloured textile by-product. The result is a paper with a higher white point, designed for printing applications that require greater brightness, sharpness and colour fidelity.
The origin
Refit is created from recycled wool and cotton textile waste and, in the case of denim, from worn-out jeans. These materials are transformed and blended with cellulose, resulting in papers that are unique in appearance, texture and composition.
The collection stands out for its content of textile processing waste, which results in a highly sensory material. The Refit Wool surface fibres surprise in look and feel, contrasting with the darker base shades and also take centre stage with the new Wool Pure White. Refit Cotton, on the other hand, offers a smoother tactile sensation, inspired by the freshness of freshly laundered laundry. Finally, Refit Denim evokes the authentic look and feel of denim.
How to use
Refit is suitable for a wide range of applications in high-quality printing and packaging. A special mention for the new shades: Their purity makes them ideal for catalogues and printed materials where colour accuracy is essential.
Conclusion
Refit is the Favini paper that contains 40% recovered textile fibres and a total of 50% pre- and post-consumer recycled materials. The range is certified to FSC™ and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and is produced using energy from 100% renewable sources.
Refit is part of Paper from our Echosystem, Favini’s collection of papers made from eco-innovative raw materials, such as recycled fibres, materials from creative reuse, or alternative fibres other than those derived from trees.
With Refit, Favini continues to redefine the concept of sustainable premium paper: a material that tells stories of recycling, creativity and innovation, transforming fashion waste into a new paper substrate to touch, print on and experience.
