Posterheroes is an international graphic and social communication competition, created in 2010 in collaboration with the PLUG association. Themed all around social and environmental issues, this competition is targeted to involve especially young creatives from the international community.
Edition seven of “Shaping the Future” Posterheroes competition
For the most recent edition of the competition, Favini, together with the IED Istituto Europeo di Design and the PLUG association, asked the international creative community to express its own vision of the future by creating a 70×100 cm poster about “Shaping the Future”.
An international jury composed of graphic, art and communication experts selected the most notable 40 posters from amongst almost 3,000 participants, comprising of 103 different nationalities.

The creative calendar “Shaping the Future”
Amongst the 40 winning posters of the Posterheroes competition, 12 works were selected to create the exceptional 2019 “Shaping the Future” wall calendar, printed on Favini’s graphic specialties.
In addition to the winning poster of Melania Branca, the chosen artworks are by Riccardo Baggio, Danielle Dirks, Robert Young, Marianna Leal Rato and Lara Gil, Nicoletta Raffo, Zuzanna Rawa, Naandeyé Garcia Villegas, Francesco Ibrahim, Kostis Ktistakis, Aleksei Orlov and Ekaterina Frolova.
A first-class selection, made even more special by the particular printing techniques and the different papers used as the support for the graphic communication: each work, in fact, was enhanced by the choice of both the surface and the printing technique involved.
The cover of the “Shaping The Future” calendar is formed by several overlapping sheets of Remake. The different colours of Remake paper, a product that comes through a process to upcycle leather residues, creates the cover of the calendar: flipping through these pages, the concept and history of the competition, the brief and the partners are unveiled.
“Shaping the Future” on tour
During the 2019, the “Shaping the Future” calendar will make a tour in Italy: every month it will stop in “exclusive” locations: from natural settings to historical-artistic buildings of the Veneto region.
In January, the piece “A future with equality” by Riccardo Baggio takes a look into the future from its location on the walls of the historic city of Marostica, a place which is famous for its live chess game.
